Full-Arch Restoration

Replace Dentures and Restore Missing Teeth

There are many people who struggle with tooth loss and are missing most or all of their teeth. Removable dentures are a popular replacement for missing teeth, but many patients find them inconvenient and uncomfortable to wear. If you are unsatisfied with your current dentures or are exploring your options for tooth replacement, we invite you to contact Breakwater Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Implants.

Dr. Larson can restore one or both arches of teeth using dental implants to support a fixed prosthesis. This treatment is known as full-arch restoration, and it is a life-changing procedure that fully restores your oral health and the appearance of your smile.

What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?

Implant-supported dentures are similar to traditional dentures, except the prosthesis is attached to multiple dental implant posts. While removable dentures must be taken out during meals and can slip around, implant-supported dentures stay in place at all times. In addition to being more convenient and comfortable, implant-supported dentures also provide health benefits.

Dental implants, like natural teeth roots, stimulate the jaw bone, which keeps it healthy. Traditional dentures rest on the bony ridge in the mouth and do not stimulate the jaw, leaving you susceptible to jaw bone atrophy. As the jaw weakens, facial features can begin to sag and make you appear older than you actually are. By using dental implants to secure your dentures, you enjoy a fixed smile that protects your oral health.

When restoring many teeth, we can use several implants to support a prosthesis or use multiple individual implants throughout the mouth. Dr. Larson will create a custom restoration plan for you based on your smile needs.

Full-Arch Replacement Procedure

During your first visit, Dr. Larson will take 3D scans of your mouth and create the plan for your tooth restoration. The procedure for implant placement will be performed during a separate appointment. We perform full-arch restoration surgery using IV sedation, which allows you to rest comfortably during the procedure.

On the day of your procedure, Dr. Larson will extract the remaining teeth from the dental arch and insert the implants. We will attach a temporary prosthesis to the implants for you to wear while the implants heal, which can take 4 to 6 months. Once the implants are healed, your dentist will remove the temporary prosthesis and attach your final, custom-made teeth.

Types of Anesthesia

There are many anesthesia and sedation options available for oral surgery.
