Although he retired two years ago, his passion for oral surgery has drawn him back to the profession. He takes pride in making each patient’s experience as pleasant as possible, always recognizing the anxiety that can accompany dental procedures. His approach is rooted in respect, courtesy, and a genuine commitment to patient well-being.
Working with a dynamic team is one of the aspects Dr. Burye cherishes most about the profession. He thrives in environments filled with energy and enthusiasm and finds great satisfaction in fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Whether mentoring surgical assistants or coordinating with front desk personnel, he believes a cohesive team enhances the overall patient experience. His relationships with referring offices are equally important—he highly values these connections and enjoys contributing to the local dental community through continuing education programs and speaking engagements.
Outside the office, Dr. Burye leads a vibrant and fulfilling life. Despite two knee surgeries, he remains active through walking and hiking. His love of music is reflected in his passion for building stereo amplifiers and enjoying the warm glow of tube amps. An avid woodworker, he has completed numerous home projects, including electrical work and bathroom tiling.
Cooking is another favorite pastime, with a knack for delicious meals and the occasional culinary mishap. Fly fishing offers him a serene escape, while photography has been a lifelong hobby since his undergraduate days. He transitioned from film to digital photography, mastering Photoshop and advanced printing techniques over the years.
Family is a central part of Dr. Burye’s life. His daughter, Muriel, lives in Perth, Australia, with his two beloved grandchildren, Olive and Robin. He and his wife, Gerri, have shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they enjoy traveling and playing cards, often planning exciting trips. Upcoming adventures include an Alaskan cruise, a month-long journey to Ireland and Scotland, and future plans to visit Iceland and Romania.
Dr. Burye is excited to contribute his expertise part-time as part of an oral surgery team once again. He looks forward to reconnecting with patients and colleagues and continuing to make a meaningful impact in the field.
